Sharing Hair Knowledge at Beauty Myths Camp

Dr Paul Cornwell (Business Development Director, TRI) at took part in an on-line Beauty Myths Camp 2024 on 5th and 10th August. The free event, watched by over 1,900 people to date, focused on the myths that persist in many areas of cosmetic science, including sustainability, active ingredients, safety, formulation, regulations, hair care, sunscreens and skin care. The discussion with Paul about hair care myths focused on a wide range of subjects including bond builders, ideal wash frequencies for hair, sulphate-free claims and multi-ethnic hair care. The Beauty Myths was organized by Beauty SciComm, a group of cosmetic scientists, IT specialists and science communicators, passionate about increasing the quality of the science shared on social media about cosmetic products. Paul was interviewed by Dr Michelle Wong, founder of the popular labmuffin beauty science website and co-founder of Beauty SciComm, and Jen Novakovich, co-founder of Beauty SciComm.
