The TRI ‘Fundamentals of Hair Science & Hair Claims Course 2025’ will take place on May 13-14; Immediately ahead of the ‘Symposium on the Fatigue Testing of Hair 2025’ which takes place on May 15. The course will take place face-to-face, on-site at TRI, and will also be streamed live, on-line. For more information and to register for the hair course please click here

The TRI Hair Course is designed for anyone new to the hair category, whether you are in a technical or business role, and is given by experts at TRI. In the first session the course introduces attendees to hair structure and biology, and to hair claims substantiation. The second session then describes the product science behind the design of different types of hair products, including shampoos, conditioners, styling products and chemical treatments. The key test methods used for performance testing of these products are also described. The third, and largest, session focusses on the many advanced hair claims testing methods used in the category and in TRI. This includes strength testing, active penetration testing, hair appearance testing, damage testing and testing on textured hair.
Attendees joining us live in TRI will be able to join the TRI team on the evening of May 13th for a barbeque and social event. Live delegates will also, on May 14th, be able to visit the TRI laboratories and view demonstrations of some of the methods covered in the course.
All the presentations will be available to stream for all the delegates (in-person and on-line) for three months after the event. Delegates will also be able to take copies of the presentation slides for further study.
